about

New original song :D. The production and style was inspired by a mixture of 80's synthpop/electropop/new wave, The Postal Service (Ben Gibbard, Brian Tamborello "Dntel"), Washed Out, Gotye, and strangely by Rihanna's new song "We Found Love". (And perhaps a bit of Owl City ;P) The song lyrically is about the innate desire to grow and develop, become a better human being, in the context of a love relationship, and all aspects of one's life. The song was created in Logic Studio aka my living room, with the help of a midi controller and a Rode NT1a condenser mic. Video clips were downloaded from the Nasa.gov website (public domain), figure we've all paid for this with our tax dollars might as well get some additional use for the footage.

lyrics

Your beating heart
The tempo to my favorite song
is slow and calm

Let us write
A ballad of the dreams we share
Beyond our fears

The verse will tell of trying times
The obstacles that shaped our lives
The times where trust was fading
Despite the hardships we kept on going

The chorus where the tides will turn
From all mistakes, we have learned
Fruition of the dreams we share
I'd like to think we're almost there
I'd like to think we're almost there

The things you say,
A melody to calm my fears
when hope is scarce

When we collide
A harmony that breath's new life
To a world so tired

The verse will tell of simple lives
Making the best of trying times
Times where trust was fading
Despite the hardships we kept on going

The chorus where the tides will turn
From all mistakes, we have learned
Fruition of the dreams we share
I'd like to think we're almost there
I'd like to think we're almost there

the bridge a path to something near
I'd like to think we're almost there

about

A lot of my motivation lately has been influenced heavily by something Steve Jobs said:
"You've got to ... more find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. ...the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it." less
